My daughter loves to be barefoot at home. From the second she gets home to the second we leave, her shoes and socks are off! With that comes a very small and specific annoyance…there are socks everywhere in her playroom!!!
Maybe not such a big deal, but when it comes time to do laundry I have a difficult time matching socks together. It sometimes takes two weeks or more, and lord knows how many loads of laundry, to reunite a “Troll’s” or “Harry Potter” sock with it’s long lost mate.
I’ve tried to get Maddie to keep her socks with her shoes or to put them straight in the dirty laundry with very little success. Oftentimes when she kicks them off I’m getting a snack together for her or putting stuff away, so it’s been difficult to police.
In an effort to make my job easier, and to get the right socks back to her mom’s house at the end of the week, I came up with a fun new idea that I think will help.

My dear mother loaned me this adorable little board to keep Maddie’s socks safe from the underside of the couch, or wherever it is they disappear to. The goal is to make a more permanent sign to make it fun and easy for Maddie to use.
