Confident Beauty

Madison has always wanted her ears pierced, but she’s also afraid that it will hurt. My mother was kind enough to share some of her old costume jewelry with Madison and this was the result.

New Earrings, who’s this?

Madison is a very pretty girl who is constantly smiling. But, when I look at this picture I see the smile of a girl who FEELS pretty. I will always want that for Madison. I want her to feel confident and beautiful no matter how she chooses to dress.

I am reminded of a song from The Sound of Music that I believe should be the anthem of every young woman.

“I have confidence in sunshine. I have confidence in rain. I have confidence that spring will come again. Besides, which you see I have confidence in me.”

How do you inspire confidence in your children?
