I Think an Introduction is in Order…

November 25th, 2021 marks the 6th anniversary of starting this blog. Looking back at my early efforts and even some of my recent ones, I admit my dedication has been spotty at best.

During my look back, I’ve realized that I never properly introduced myself or the mission of this blog. I suppose I just never got around to doing it or didn’t feel like it was necessary for one reason or another. But, here it is now!

Who am I?

To all that don’t know me or have only followed the blog for a short while, my name is Matt. I am a single father living and working in Southern California. I have one gorgeous and loving daughter, Mads, and she is my life! I presently work in Emergency Medical Services but have decided to be a writer when I grow up!

Over the years, I’ve done a few small writing jobs, including a regular assignment with a famous political news blog. After my initial foray into writing, I decided that maybe the world of divisive politics wasn’t the best place for me. My ultimate goal has always been to write children’s books and share my experiences as a father. With that, Mads’ Dad Blog was born.

What’s this all about?

The primary goal of Mads’ Dad Blog is simple. To share knowledge and inspire other dads to take a positive role in their children’s lives. As a dad, I feel like I connect best with my daughter when we spend time doing what we both enjoy. For us, that’s spending time outdoors and lazy days around town.

Over the last two years, my life has changed drastically. In that, I have also strived to share my experiences as a divorced dad and co-parent and destigmatizing being a “part-time dad.”

What’s to come?

Some of you may ask, why should I follow Mads’ Dad Blog? Unfortunately, I can’t promise you any life-changing content or even a shift in thinking. But, I can promise to continue delivering new and exciting content in vlogs, photos, and written posts. Over the next year, I also hope to publish my first-ever children’s book!!!!
